Yo! Jeremy Neale is ‘Getting The Team Back Together’

1 minute read

Jeremy Neale drips charm and charisma much like Rafael Nadal drips beads of sweat at a grandslam final. He is quite possibly the most likeable young musician in Australia right now. That’s a big call to make, but it can be verified by quickly glancing at his Facebook page.

By regularly engaging with his followers in his trademark semi satirical, semi philosophical, and wholly genuine way, it’s easy to decipher that this Brisbane based muso is loved by his fans for his outlook on life as much as his commitment to making music that transcends fads and phases and resonates with listeners on a deeper level. Fortunately for Neale, his vision may just be realised with the release of his debut album 'Getting the Team Back Together.'

It’s everything we’d expect from a Jeremy Neale release. It’s like the feature film to his previous television mini series. Opening tracks Averse to Try It and Bad Company start proceedings with a rocky punch before well chosen singles Small Talk and Dancin’ & Romancin’ take centre stage. Other stand outs are the very catchy Video, the synth heavy Loose Cannon and heartfelt closer Light My Way.

His last two EPs produced singles that set the foundation for what was to come – a debut album confident in sound and style that has penetrated through to Jeremy’s most basic musical pulse with an amplified nod to 80s power pop and lyrics dealing with uncertainty, insincerity, knock-backs, love and realising dreams.

To surmise, 'Getting the Team Back Together' is a fantastic, hook friendly, 11 track treat that will have you dancing (and possibly romancing). So treat yourself and listen on.

Jeremy Neale will be touring the new album in March 2018. See the video clip to Dancin' & Romancin'  below.

Always yours,

Gleeko xx
